Well the sun is certainly making a bit of an appearance at the moment, much to most people’s delight. Sometimes, however, it’s easy to forget about looking after our skin in the sun when we’re not on holiday. It is vitally important to wear a daily Sun Protection Factor (SPF) to avoid premature ageing, redness, pigmentation and of course minimise the risk of skin cancer. The SPF doesn’t have to be high, for most people 15-25 is adequate, as long as it is reapplied on a regular basis. There are also a range of hydrating products that can be used to ensure that our skin remains supple and fresh. I recommend a specific range of products in the clinic including a rejuvenating lotion, moisturising protector, SPF and a medically formulated serum to maximise skin care and ward off any damage from the heat and light. At the same time improving the appearance, hydrating and protecting your skin. Skin care isn’t all about reactive repair, proactive protection is the key!
